This year’s Winter Classic Invitational will be held on Saturday, January 23rd with a snow date of Sunday, January 24th. This is an invitational meet so participation is optional for all swimmers unlike our regular season dual meets. The meet will be broken up into two sessions: warm ups for the 10 & under session will begin at 9:30am for a 10:45am meet start, and warm ups for the 11 & older session will begin no sooner than 2:30pm for a meet start no sooner than 3:30pm. The host team will enforce cutoff times for each event, which means swimmers will only be able to enter events where they have a previous time and that time is SLOWER than the cutoff time. For swimmers who are faster than the cutoff times, there are several open events that they would be eligible for.
Swimmers must sign up and select events on the “Sign Ups and Stats” section of our website and submit $4.00 per individual event plus a $2.00 fee per swimmer to Coach Mary by Thursday, January 14th to be entered in the meet (entry fees are given to Washingtonville Seahawks Swim Club to cover costs associated with the meet). Relay entries will be determined by coaches. A full event listing with qualifying times is available here for convenience, but our meet sign up system will only allow you to sign swimmers up for events they qualify for. Please also volunteer to help out at the meet through the volunteer sign up.
If you have any questions, please contact the coaching staff by emailing email@example.com.

I am very happy with the Snappers results at Sunday’s meet and looking forward to continuing our hard work for more outstanding results. We had very few disqualified swimmers and I am especially proud of those young swimmers that tried new events to get more experience, hats off to you!

Hello Snapper Parents and Swimmers,
Great job at the swim meet on Sunday, we swam against a huge team and they didn’t rattle anyone! The ribbons will be available next week as the other team ran short.
I want to remind you about how to show your sportsmanship by shaking your opponents hand at the end of the meet. Reach across the lane line even if the person swimming next to you is on your team or wish them luck at the start of the race, that’s who we are!
Just wanted to let you know that I will be at practice on Monday, Thursday Saturday and Sunday this week. I will get to as many of the Wednesday practices as I can as long as my schedule allows. Michelle (Renata’s mom) is going to assist in the younger session, she is a former swimmer, she worked with us on Monday and we are happy she joined us. Welcome Michelle!
